Bought this as a gift for a friend. He’s enjoying the challenge!
Michael P.
Very intricate and involved. Fun to put together.
Jeff K.
I totally enjoy the process of building. The ease of working with the laser cut sheets is excellent, and the no glue feature is wonderful. Thanks for a great product!
Tom E.
Thought you might like to see how I am displaying my recently completed engine model. It was a real pleasure to build because of the quality, intricacy, and outstanding instructions. It restored my faith in my ability to still build models in my 86th year. Thank you. Tom E.
Joe O.
Parts fit together well. Arrived quickly and well-packed. Solid quality.
James H.
My daughter loves it!
Thomas E.
Just started on Christmas Day. Very impressed with quality, instructions. Thought piece P1 was missing but found it screwed into another piece so all is good. I am 86 and hope I can get my 14 year old grandson to share in the pleasure of building this engine.
Bruce D.
This was a fun build. The drive pins for the wheels I thought were a little short but still works. But I’m happy with the overall build.
Mike F.
As a retiree and former automotive mechanic these projects fit my style perfectly. I have to say the locomotive is solidly built.
Tom S.
Got it for a friend's birthday. He loved it!
James M.
Kept me busy but I enjoyed assembling, thanks!
Ramsey K.
I loved the challenge of finding, placing and assembling each part. Someone had an incredible talent to put it all together.
Theresa D.
My husband and grandson are extremely excited to put this together!!!
Anne F.
Came in great shape. Saving it for grandson’s birthday in Feb.
Nancy S.
I bought this for my grandson because I thought it would be challenging and fun for him. It turned out to be a smash it!! He loves it and it takes him longer to put together than Legos. He loves the cogs and the pistons so much and he loves that this engine is interactive. It is a great toy and well worth the money.
Danielle P.
Perfect for a train enthusiast
Griffin E.
It's not quite done yet, but i've enjoyed the assembly a lot so far
Cheryl O.
I bought this for my husband for Christmas. He loves trains. Cant wait for him to open it. Thank you so much.
Sharlette G.
Hello. Actually its wrapped up under tree, its a xmas gift. I'll certainly let you know what my husband thinks.
Norman F.
Great looking piece and runs well
John H.
Just started model. I only work for a short time each day on the model. From the reverse and sometimes both sides of each piece are cut free from the board. The remaining tab is sanded smooth. Any difficulty assembling is helped with a little candle wax.
This is the 16th wood model I’ve built during the 2020 Pandemic. A great way to pass the time.
Eric N.
Great designed and well thought out product. I haven’t done the locomotive yet, but so far I’m very pleased with the product quality.
Sandra R.
My hubby loves working on it. It
is a great relaxing hobby and it is neat to see it coming together to completion.
Kathy M.
This was a challenge to build but I loved every minute of it! I couldn’t stop! And I love how the wheels, gears, etc move. So much fine!
Muthu M.
Loved putting it together ❤
Don L.
My Dad is a retired railroader & loved receiving this train.
Sue J.
There should be better pictures of the assembly of the overall project.
Dorothy M.
My purchases have all been gifts, except for a small clock I ordered for myself. These are wonderfully intricate structures and make into beautiful items. I have known these products as holiday gifts, but I hope this will become a regular online business so that these lovely objects can be available year round.
Merri L.
I got this as a Christmas gift for my son (he's 33). He absolutely loves it. Put it together and sent me a video to see it run. Now the husband wants one. Wonderful product. Great quality.
Kimberly M.
This is a very nice model, challenging enough, sturdy and solid. Everything lines up well but it doesn't run gears only turn so far and stops. I must've made a mistake in the spring assembly, but all in all a great looking model.
Gary S.
I enjoyed putting the locomotive together. I really like how easy the parts could be located on the part sheets.
Joanne A.
It doesn’t run but looks cool. The joints being wood on wood make it so it won’t travel. Maybe some metal added or bearings or something would make it work. Was for my husband and he loved it.
Lori C.
This kit is great size for display. Great way and it really works. Detail outstanding
JOANNA J.
I would read the printed instructions, then look at the assembly video several times. Learned care and patience.
I cannot get the locomotive to roll on its own. There is a point where the gears bind. As I wind the spring and had roll the locomotive this binding seems to be lessening. Hopefully will work itself out.
Enjoyed the experience of assembly. Be patient, work until the parts are fully in place.
Nancy F.
It was a Christmas gift for my man friend. He putt it together in 2 days, and was considering getting another kit. He has it displayed in his home in a prominent place.
Dominique C.
Was great fun putting it together and then watching it actually work was even better.
Chalk H.
Great gift for my husband - he loves it!
Henry B.
This was really fun to build. Instructions were clear for the most part. Many parts are pretty delicate but there were spares on two parts I would have had difficulty gluing. At first it didn't run very well but after a few runs it goes very smoothly. Highly recommended.
Christine S.
We bought this quality project because our brother is an engineer and has a model train collection. We got this for him for Christmas. And will give it to him this next week. We chose this project because we saw a video and realized that it was an amazing gift.
Diane B.
Cadeaux super, très apprécié et facile à comprendre.
Billie G.
Bought the train engine for my 15 year old grandson who has loved legos for years, couldn’t get him to give me any ideas what he wanted for Christmas. When I saw these on the internet I thought it looked like a good project for him. He loves it and says it is better than legos.
Joseph F.
Building this train was a lot of fun. The only thing they could do better is the instructions. There should be written instructions along with the photos. That being said I plan to purchase the Truck and Jeep next.
Michelle G.
I bought this for my boyfriend because he plans on retiring in 6 months. This was for him to do in all that spare time he's going to have. He is a huge train guy and that 20% off coupon would be great because now I want to buy him the train with the tender box as well.
R R.
Great fun to put together all the pieces fit very well
Anne K.
I bought this for my husband and he will love it. He loves trains and he loves putting things together. Can't wait to see his face when he unwraps it.
Valerie F.
Husband LOVES it, works in transit , down NYC, loves trains, especially this one!
Thanks for bringing the kid out on him!❤
Robert W.
It’s a Christmas gift, I really can’t provide much of an opinion until the gift recipient gets it and assembles it.,,
Pasquale C.
You have a very good product here. Instructions are easy to follow. Lots of fun to build.
Jill P.
very cool, cannot wait to see my grandson's face when he opens it up.
Sheila F.
For Christmas I bought this for my grandson who loves to put mechanical thing together. Should keep him quite busy!!
Mary Lynn K.
Purchased for my daughter in law who has a love of trains. She loves it.
Paul M.
These are awesome models! This is my second and I’m very impressed with the intricacies and precision. They’re amazing!
Mark F.
I tried to share a picture and video but the system would not accept them.
So much fun. Your products have been my go to entertainment during COVID-19.
Susan G.
This has been my favorite puzzle so far (I have done 4 of them)! These puzzles are awesome!
carol a.
A little tricky, I goofed a couple times and had to go back, but I loved it, and just "had" to finish it today before I could clean house.
Neil D.
Enjoyed the complexity, but the axles needed better support with metal bushings and wooden spacers should be attached to axles between gears and supports to keep gears in place especially for the smoke stack and mating gear assemblies.
Liked the actual axle measurement pictorials and thought the tools were very clever to be part of the puzzle. Also spare parts came in handy.
Enjoyable challenge but some side assembly instructions were a little unclear about the right verses left sub assemblies process. Connecting members could be more sturdy, the F22, F23 and F25 type pieces could be bigger and stronger.
Jon D.
One of the more enjoyable models. Truly awesome attention to detail. From the operational rear couple to the silhouetted brass bell, this model is joy to watch develop. Once again, the clear instructions make it a straight forward, yet challenging construction. If you mess up a part, it's your misreading the diagrams, not a fault of the instructions! Highly recommended.
Linette B.
I bought the locomotive for my husband for his birthday. He loved building it. He was impressed by the precision cutting and perfect fit of all the parts. He would definitely like to build another one.
Michael H.
This is my 3rd model and I am hooked!. the quality of the product is outstanding and they worked just like they should with a little skill. Will be ordering another soon
Paul B.
Bought for father's day, my dad built a firetruck and he really enjoyed, so we shall see.
Keith M.
What a fun project. It was hard to stop working on it once I started. Lost some sleep putting it together. But I thoroughly enjoyed it. I highly recommend this if you like 3D puzzles. I'm looking forward to purchasing some of the other ones. Thanks!!
Warren R.
I had never done one of these ‘puzzles’ before. It was a lot of fun and very relaxing. The parts were well done and directions were good. Will probably by another one.
Cliff
I enjoyed it very much.
Keith M.

Mark L.
Package arrived, a gift for a family member. It remains unopened at the moment, but the box is quite heavy and looks very appealing. It remains sitting on the dining room table, taunting me. I wish someone had given it to me.
Donna S.
My husband received it as gift. He’s so hard to shop for. He loved it so much he started working on it the very next day.
Ken V.
Very fun and relaxing to build. Great to see the gears work together.
Wilma G.
I'm sorry there is no experience. I bought this train puzzle for my husband for Christmas and he hasn't even started working on it yet. He is 84 years old, and has always loved putting puzzles together. Maybe this time it was too much for him, I might have to recruit the grandchildren! The all look amazing to me! Thanks for the chance anyway!
AL B.
This kit was my second to buy and build. Very satisfying and challenging to do, which for me is the point! I enjoyed this more than the Marble Run because it was a higher degree of difficulty. I thought it was smart to include extra parts, and sure enough, they were needed a few times. This kit took me 11 hours to build, enjoyed every minute. I took advantage of the sand paper and used the gear wax where indicated. My big disappointment was not getting smooth operation from the gears. So, I could not get it to loco-mote at all. Why a rotating smoke stack?? I Will not dis-assemble, so It will have to be a show piece.
Thomas S.
Overall a very enjoyable assembly. Could’ve used some more written suggestions especially when assembling the cogs for the wheels. Still waiting on my next two models which have taken over a month to get.
Catherine Z.
These wood kits are so much fun for my son and I to build. They are so detailed and intricate. I plan to buy more of them.
Boll M.
Great!!!
Runs well and looks great. A real conversation starter as a new coffee table decoration.
Only one issue in construction: I built the rocker arms to be identical, but they are different for left and right sides. Did not see the distinction made in the instructions.
Chris C.
Very Cool Mechanical Model! Directions are good. Parts are well made. Doesn't travel far but very interesting to see all the moving parts in action. I will be buying more of these models!
Tim
Fun project, works as advertised. Also a great conversation piece.
Chas C.
This was my first experience with wooden puzzles and did not know what to expect. Wow was I surprised at the workmanship and precise cutting of the parts.
Minimal sanding to fit any part. The directions were very clear and I learned very early not to assemble parts ahead of the directions as it only got me into trouble.
Since the locomotive I have completed 6 puzzles and working on the 4 x 4 Jeep. I am hooked. Great stress releiver.
Lisa
My husband loved the mechanics and precision die cut of the train. He loves that it works and chugs it aling for the kids!
Tom C.
One of the best wooden models I’ve ever built. Well designed and clear instructions.
Ira
I really enjoy building these kits. The locomotive was the second kit that I’ve built during the COVID-19 stay at home period. It was totally enjoyable. The detail that goes into these kits is amazing. I’m looking forward to my next build.
Gary K.
Is was a fun project. The lazer city’s were perfect and very light sanding with the included cloth smoothed the attachment point. It was difficult enough to keep the novis builder challenged buy presented clearly enough that when completed it worked! I enjoyed it so much I am currently working on the marble machine, and I will order the projector. Just know, the train is for show, and the spring only moves it a yard or two. Still my 10 year old grand boys loved it when presented as a gift. Enjoy
Donald C.
This was my first attempt to build a wooden model of this type. The instructions were fairly straightforward and easily followed. I learned quickly to be very careful when pressing parts together, else damage to very small pieces could result. Overall, I’m satisfied with the model.
Fred K.
Unfortunately I cannot say anything about the locomotive, because I need it as a present.
But I do have a remark about the packaging. It would be better if a solid cardboard box was used for shipping. The locomotive box is dented and I hope that the content is still intact.
Keith B.
Impressed with the precision and it was fun to build and looks great but I can't get it to move. All the gears turn but the spring won't get it started. I still give it five stars..I probably made a mistake somewhere but I still love it
Walter W.
I had to show you a first picture before. The assembly is really fun! Thanks a lot for the beautiful model. I'll contact you when it is ready.
Peter V.
My hobby is actually railway photography. I was made aware of the beautiful train by a friend and so we decided that we want to build it together. I have arthritis in my hands and did not think I could do it alone. The model was then quickly with me and I unpacked it alone. It was nicely packed and all parts were quite well labelled. So I pushed out a few parts and was amazed how well I managed it. I spent the day in my little hobby workshop and in the end the model was ready. The time passed much too fast because the construction was really fun. To do it with my hands was really great! In the end I had a bad conscience, because I had built it alone. I have now ordered another model and hope for a quick delivery?
Douglas B.
Ordered, delivered, built, happy -> what more can you write?
Thomas G.
I love assembly kits and 3D puzzles. And I love it even more when these models are not only for looking at, but also have real functions.
This wooden locomotive is (besides the movie projector) probably one of the most beautiful kits in the category wooden models on the market.
As with all ROKR models, the components have been lasered with absolute precision and fit together perfectly without glue. As always, a little bit of sensitivity is required when assembling the kits, as some parts are quite delicate and can break if handled too impatiently.
But if you take your time (it took me about 7 hours for the assembly), you will be rewarded with a model that is an optical highlight both in resting state and in function.
When the spring winding mechanism is cocked and the brake lever in the cab is released, the locomotive pulls away at a pretty decent speed (not suitable for small rooms!). The rotating gears (and the chimney) then offer a fascinating sight.
For railway fans and friends of wind-up toys this is actually an absolute must!
Chris G.
Wonderful to set up, is great fun. You get really addicted to it. Keep it up and I will continue to shop with you for many years to come
Mary L.
Not easy to put together.
Joachim R.
The building instructions are logically structured and well elaborated. The parts are sometimes difficult to remove from the frame. Shortly before the end there were cracking noises when the components were installed, which was not always easy.
Unfortunately I have something stuck in the gearbox. So the loco does not run through.
Why the chimney has to turn, is not clear to me.
Rick S.
It was easy and good instructions. Made very well.
